a great project for a great community.

The community is in great need of this park renovation. Not only do we support the efforts of the park for the kids of the neighborhood, the park also hosts one of only six programs in the Chicago Park District for kids with special needs. The park would truly be a place where all could gather and play. Most importantly, play safely! Thank you for considering our park project.

Katrina
on May 30, 2007

Our community would really use this playlot. Quality family time is one of the most important values of this neighborhood and a revitalized playlot would give families a fun place to spend the day.

Frank Thornton
on May 30, 2007

This project was started by concerned parents wanting a nice safe playground for their families. They took it upon THEMSELVES to raise money and get this improvement accomplished. The whole community is coming together on this and we would greatly appreciate the grant to make our playground safe and a place where good old fashioned playtime and conversations can take place. Please help us. Thanks.

Our community will benefit from having a safe, educational and beautiful place to meet friends and play. We visit parks in the neighborhood everyday and know how important it is to maintain and improve the existing parks. Thank you for considering giving Mount Greedwood Park a grant. The kids would appreciate it!

Please help Mt. Greenwood build a new park. This community group has been steadfast in their commitment to a new park. They deserve all the "corporate" help they can accumulate.

Some of my greatest memories are from Mt. Greenwood Park . Having spent most of my life there, I have seen the playground change only once, in 34 years. It was rebuilt in the late eighties, or early nineties, to remove dangerous equipment, but I haven't seen anything change since that time. This grant would help create a safe environment for our kids; to play and make their own memories.

Please help Mt. Greenwood build the park! For me it would be wonderfull memories. My husband grew up and played ball in that park, we meet there and it would be a nice to bring my grandkids to their "Grandpa's park" thank you :)

I am in support of the new park. I live a block away from the park and since I don't feel that it's safe for my two young children to play on, I take them to a park about 5 miles away that was just rebuilt. I would LOVE to be able to just walk down the block and spend the day with my kids at the park in OUR neighborhood. Please support the remodeling of Mt. Greenwood Park !!! Thank you.

There is no down side to a safe new playground. Mt. Greenwood Park is an icon for the southside of Chicago . Our park hosts various sporting events, daycamp, community parties, family reunions. It also serves as the stage for many life experiences, from budding friendship to first kisses Won't you please help to improve our playground and preserve this vital aspect of our neighborhood. Thank you.

Please support our efforts to rebuild our neighborhood park. We take pride in our community and we feel a new, updated, beautiful park would be a great addition. Our kids deserve this! With your donation, we can make this happen. How about if we ask nicely? "Pretty please? With Sugar on top?"

Mount Greenwood Park truly deserves a new playground. It's a place where kids can go to run around and just be kids for a while. It's a worthy cause and would be a great service to the neighborhood. A playground will never be a wasted investment. It will be utilized by many generations and can only serve to better the community. I fully support the construction of a new play area in Mt. Greenwood .

Mt. Greenwood Park is the center of our community, and providing our children with a safe place to play has been a mission of a group of very devoted moms who have worked tirelessly to raise funds for the project. This working-class community has really jumped on board, and corporate support is something to which the entire neighborhood responds very well!

A new park is needed in Mount Greenwood for families to enjoy. It is so important to have a safe place for your children to play, and what better place than a park. It will also be such a pleasure to see in the community, it will add so much to 111th Street

Margaret Mead once said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; it is the only thing that ever had." This spirit is reflected in our wonderful neighborhood. Our park is our town square. We want our park to represent our community pride.

Katy
on May 05, 2007

The families in Mt. Greenwood need a fun and safe place to play and enjoy the outdoors. A new park would be such an asset to the neighborhood. In a community that is filled with young families, there is no better way to draw people of all ages together than a park and playground!

on May 05, 2007

This project is long overdue. My children are older now but I would love to see this become a reality for our community. I always had to drive to other communities to use their parks so my children had a safe place to play. It would be nice if the children could stay in their own community to play. Our children need to get outside and play more this would help them to get more active.

I have two toddlers. We live only 2 blocks from this park and we never use it because it is so unsafe. The Mt. Greenwood community needs a place where we can bring our babies to so that they can play and that we know that they are safe and secure like other parks in surrounding neighborhoods!

Mary Jo
on May 05, 2007

The playground at Mntgrnwd prk is terrible. I have a child with a physical disability. It would be great if he could play with the other children under adequate safety conditions. Most importantly,m/be with this grant there could be a ramp that actually goes somewhere and children w & w/o disab. can access the whole playground & have fun safely interacting with each other w/o barriers. Please help

We saw a need and decided to do something about it. Taking pride in your community and working together for a greater purpose is what America is all about. If we don't care about our children, their safety and social development, who will? I am proud to be a Mt. Greenwood resident, and I will continue to contribute positively to my community. Would you please help us reach our goal?

Kristen S.
on May 04, 2007

The Council as well as the community has done an incredible job working to raise the funds for the project. A park of this nature would greatly benefit all children but especially those like my sons whose special needs are not met by the majority of the parks today. We all look for the best we can for our children, and with your support our dream park will be realized. Thank you.

The community of Mt. Greenwood has come together with the leadership of several hard-working Moms to create a safe place for our children to play. The current equipment is not safe. This playlot would be an asset to our community and be accessible to all children, including those with disabilities. I would love for my children to see this dream become a reality.

There is a real need for an updated and safe play ground at Mt. Greenwood Park . My children play at the park on a weekly basis, but I am afraid of them using some of the outdated equipment. The ideas for the new park are great and if the project gets the necessary funds, this new park would enhance our neighborhood, our lives and the quality time that we spend with our children

I live in another community near this playlot. I go there weekly with my children because of the wonderful atmosphere the community brings. I would hope this playlot gets your consideration for the grant. This playlot is one of two available for 7,000 growing families in this community and so many others use it as well. Your help will help them leave a grate impression on great kids.

The Mt Greenwood Community and its Businesses are very much a small town in a big city. Our park is our town square and the pride of our community. A place we share with other communities so that children, parents, grandparents and can come together in a fun and safe environment. This playground will secure and sustain a way of life.
